Vector Optics Owlset HEIM ES X-Nano XPD Mini Thermal Sight — Black

The Vector Optics Owlset HEIM ES X-Nano XPD Mini is a compact thermal sight designed for night observation and weapon-mounted use in hunting and professional applications. Measuring just 51x43x46 mm and weighing 123 g, it mounts on any firearm without affecting balance and is small enough to carry in a pocket like a monocular.

The 256x192-pixel sensor with a 12 μm pixel pitch and 50 Hz refresh rate delivers a smooth image during movement and target acquisition. Detection range reaches 600 m, while target recognition — the ability to distinguish shape and detail sufficient to identify an animal or heat source — remains reliable out to 150 m: a gap worth bearing in mind when assessing use at intermediate distances, where the thermal signature is visible but outlines remain approximate.

The base magnification is 0.5x with switchable digital zoom at 1x and 2x: the chosen zoom level affects detail but also image grain, which is proportional to sensor resolution. Six colour palettes — White Hot, Black Hot, Hot Iron, Rainbow, Iron Red, Cold Color — allow contrast to be adapted to background conditions. Wi-Fi connectivity enables real-time image streaming. IP66 protection and a stated shock resistance of 1,000 G cover use on high-recoil firearms. Power comes from the included Li-Ion 16280 battery, with 3.5 h runtime and charging via USB-C.

Key features

• Weight of 123 g and compact dimensions: does not shift the firearm's balance or add bulk to a night kit.
• Detection out to 600 m: allows the heat source to be located before moving into effective shooting range.
• Six selectable colour palettes: the image adapts to the background even when thermal contrast is low (dawn, dusk, warm terrain).
• Integrated Wi-Fi: the live scene can be shared wirelessly with an external device without additional cables.
• IP66 protection and 1,000 G shock resistance: withstands recoil from demanding calibres without a dedicated recoil-rated mount.
• Battery included with USB-C charging: no proprietary adapter required, compatible with standard chargers.
