Night vision devices
Devices that make the surrounding environment visible at night, by amplifying available ambient light or adding an infrared illuminator.
Night vision or thermal
A night vision device reveals detail: shapes, paths, text – much like a black-and-white image. In complete darkness it requires an infrared illuminator, which limits its range.
A thermal imager, on the other hand, needs no light and detects a hidden heat source more reliably, though with less detail. For observation purposes, the choice depends on what matters most: recognition or detection.
Weapon-mounted use and night hunting are governed by national legislation: check the regulations in your country.
