This page explains which cookies and similar technologies vipertactical.eu uses, what they are used for, and how you can manage them. It supplements the Privacy Policy, which you should refer to for the processing of personal data in general.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites save on the device of the visitor. They are used to make the site work, to remember preferences, to measure usage, and in some cases to display relevant advertising. Alongside cookies there are technologies with a similar function, such as tracking pixels and local browser storage: where we refer to cookies, we include these as well.
The three categories we use
1. Technical and necessary cookies
These enable navigation and essential functions: maintaining the cart, recognising the session, completing payment securely, remembering the chosen language and country, storing cookie preferences themselves.
They are set by Shopify, which hosts the store. They do not require consent, pursuant to art. 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Codice Privacy): without them the site cannot function. The main ones include: cart, _secure_session_id, secure_customer_sig, localization, _tracking_consent. Duration ranges from the session to a maximum of twelve months.
2. Measurement cookies
These collect aggregate information on how the site is used: pages visited, traffic source, visit duration, any errors. We use them to understand what is not working and to improve the catalogue.
They are set by Shopify (_shopify_y, _shopify_s, _shopify_sa_t, _shopify_sa_p) and by Google Analytics (_ga, _gid). Duration up to twenty-four months.
They require your consent, unless configured with minimisation measures such that they can be treated as equivalent to technical cookies.
3. Profiling and marketing cookies
These allow relevant ads to be shown on other platforms and the effectiveness of campaigns to be measured. They are set by third parties acting as independent data controllers:

Duration varies, generally up to thirteen months. They always require your explicit consent and are not set before you have given it.
How you give and withdraw consent
On your first visit a banner appears that allows you to accept all cookies, reject all of them, or choose by category. Your choice is recorded and remembered.
You can change your mind at any time via the cookie preferences link found at the bottom of every page. Withdrawal applies going forward and does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out.
Closing the banner without making a choice is equivalent to not giving consent: in that case only technical cookies are set.
Browser-level management
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking technical cookies may prevent the cart and payment process from functioning. Instructions are available in the documentation for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some of the providers listed are based in the United States or process data outside the EEA. In such cases the transfer takes place on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission or the Standard Contractual Clauses referred to in art. 46 GDPR.
