Wiley X Detection Ballistic Glasses — 5-Lens Interchangeable Kit — Black

The Detection is a ballistic eyewear by Wiley X with a Matte Black frame, developed in collaboration with Olympic shooters, world shooting champions and professional hunters. The kit includes five interchangeable lenses made from Selenite™ polycarbonate, designed to cover every light condition — from dawn in the woods to full summer sun at the range — and meets the ballistic standard MIL-PRF-32432(GL), the optical standard ANSI Z87.1-2016 High Velocity and High Mass Impact, and the European standard EN 166 FT for high-velocity particles at extreme temperatures.

The Pivot Lock quick-release system lets you detach the temples and swap lenses in seconds without any tools. The adjustable nose bridge can be raised to open up the lower field of view, eliminating the frame effect over iron sights or aperture sights. The flexible temples with a metal core and non-slip rubber tips adapt to the head with or without hearing protection, without transferring pressure to the ear cups. The external T-Shell™ coating is scratch-resistant; the internal Foil™ coating inhibits fogging during rapid temperature changes, such as moving from an indoor area into direct sunlight.

The five lenses cover the full spectrum of operational conditions: the clear lens (VLT 89%) is the standard choice for bright natural light and artificial lighting; the yellow lens (VLT 85%) increases contrast in low-light conditions, useful at dawn, dusk or on overcast days; the orange lens (VLT 54%) sharpens target edges in medium light; the purple lens (VLT 38%) filters the green cast of foliage, improving target perception in woodland environments; the copper lens (VLT 12%) handles intense direct sunlight and makes orange targets stand out against a light background. Lens selection is not a matter of aesthetics: with the same ballistic protection, a mismatched VLT reduces useful contrast and causes visual fatigue over time.
