The MBITR Gen 2 Radio Pouch by Warrior Assault Systems is a MOLLE pouch designed for the AN/PRC-148 MBITR radio and handsets of similar dimensions. Measuring 20x8x5 cm and weighing 135 g, it mounts cleanly on a plate carrier, chest rig or any platform with a two-row horizontal PALS system without adding meaningful bulk to your loadout.
The closure combines a quick-release buckle with an elastic bungee cord: the buckle provides positive retention during movement and prevents accidental opening, while the bungee allows the radio to be retrieved and re-inserted one-handed without manipulating a rigid retention device. Compared to an open-top pouch with elastic only, extraction is marginally slower, but the radio stays put during intense physical activity or when the pouch is inverted. Operators who prioritise absolute access speed and accept lower retention may prefer solutions without active closure; those working in physically demanding environments will find the quick-release buckle the right choice.
The body is made from Cordura 500D, offering a solid balance of abrasion resistance and weight. The front loop, compatible with a CAT tourniquet, and the 4 side loops allow additional accessories to be attached without consuming MOLLE real estate on the carrier. Reduced infrared reflectivity keeps the pouch's IR signature low — a relevant feature when operating alongside night-vision equipment.
Key features
- MOLLE/PALS attachment on two horizontal rows: compatible with most tactical carriers on the market without adapters.
- Quick-release buckle plus elastic bungee: positive retention in motion, fast one-handed opening.
- Dimensions optimised for the AN/PRC-148 MBITR and radios of similar size — no wasted space, no modifications needed.
- Front CAT loop and 4 side loops for additional accessories: the carrier loses no useful MOLLE positions.
- Reduced infrared reflectivity: the pouch does not compromise the operator's position to IR observation systems.
- Weight 135 g in Cordura 500D: robust construction with no meaningful impact on overall loadout weight.
