Adjustable Elastic Cord Nite Ize CamJam SlideLock — Grey

The CamJam SlideLock is an adjustable bungee cord by Nite Ize designed to secure loads on rucksacks, vehicles, roof racks and field equipment. Length adjusts from 18 cm to 61 cm via a 5 mm diameter elastic cord, paired with two ABS SlideLock carabiners and a CamJam locking clamp.

The CamJam mechanism sets this cord apart from conventional bungees: the clamp bites the cord at any point along its run through the pass-through slot, letting you lock in the exact tension without knots and without re-threading the attachment. The practical benefit is that you can loosen and tighten with one hand — even with gloves on — and repeat the operation many times without wearing the cord at the junction point, which is the typical problem with fixed-loop bungees.

One trade-off to consider is load capacity: the CamJam clamp handles moderate retaining loads and vehicle vibration well, but is not designed for lifting applications or anchoring heavy material under sudden shock loads. Anyone needing a definitive hold on very heavy loads should look at ratchet straps instead. For everyday use with tools, tarps, bags or resupply pouches, the SlideLock offers speed and versatility that traditional bungees simply cannot match.
