The UBAC (Under Body Armor Combat Shirt) by 101INC is a combat shirt designed to be worn under a tactical vest or plate carrier. The sleeves and shoulders in ripstop 65% polyester / 35% cotton offer the abrasion resistance of a combat uniform, while the torso panel in 100% polyester actively wicks moisture away, reducing the microclimate between the body and the vest above.

The split in materials between sleeves and torso is deliberate: the ripstop sleeves withstand constant friction against the inner surfaces of the vest and external terrain, with the cotton content helping the fabric hold its shape under load. The pure polyester chest panel dries faster than cotton — relevant when the vest blocks direct airflow and moisture build-up during rest periods leads to heat loss. The trade-off is clear: the synthetic torso wicks well but lacks the hand feel and abrasion resistance of cotton — qualities that, under a plate carrier, are simply not needed.

The sleeve pockets are secured with Velcro and remain accessible even with the vest on. Elbows and cuffs are reinforced in ripstop. The short U-zip at the collar allows the shirt to be put on without opening it fully, keeping the collar snug against the neck when closed. The Velcro panels on the sleeves accept standard patches.
